Well, the Amazon delivery fairies have arrived and delivered my XBox 360 Elite, hence it’s tough to justify staying in work :)   I can’t wait to plug this into the new TV and see the 1080p HDMI output in all its glory, since that was my main reason for choosing one of the true next-gen consoles over the Wii – I am one of the few people that can actually use the greater capabilities.  I’m also pretty curious about the XBox Live service that comes with it since it is the most commonly touted “superior” feature  over the PS3.

I bought it to keep me company while Jenny is away – she got to Dublin safely and was pretty pleased with the new Aer Lingus direct flight from Dulles – they have a nice new Airbus 330, decent service and it knocked a good 4 hours off the total travel time.  Matt also arrived back in Seattle safely, so good news all around, though the house does now feel a little empty.

  1. 1080p like whoa!

I’d be interested to know what sort of difference you see on it over what us 720p and 1080i losers have.

  2. I have a 720p TV too (on the wall in the bedroom), though it is literally half the size (23 inch Vs 46 inch) – so probably not a fair comparison :)

I think a friend of mine has Madden on a 1080i TV, so I can probably eyeball it there.

  3. Hey Adam,

I have an original XBox 360 with HDD and think it rocks! Would love to hear how you think 720p compares to 1080p

Highly recommend Pro Evolution Soccer by the way – a little too addictive to the point were certain threats were made against the wedding! Happy to report we had the wedding on July 28th though!

    Enjoy the Elite!

    A very Jelaous Dave

  4. Congratulations on the wedding – and a football game is definitely in order in the near future ;)

    House party!!!!!
